DAN'S NEIGHBORHOOD OUTLOOK

DINING & LEISURE
Possibly my favorite place in Uptown is Montrose Harbor. You can take in Chicago's beautiful skyline from a relaxing spot on the lakeshore, get lunch at the gorgeous waterfront restaurant or enjoy the gorgeous Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary nearby.
Another incredible location in Uptown is the Green Mill, a century-old jazz club with the same vibes as its prohibition-era success as one of Al Capone's favorite spots.
For food, some of the best places are Argyle Street's Pho 777, with its delicious Vietnamese soups, and Demera, a wonderful Ethiopian restaurant with great traditional dishes.

LOCATION & CONVENIENCE
One of the many great things about Uptown is its proximity to the lake. It has an absolutely amazing lakeshore community, yet it's prices are quite affordable.
Uptown is about 6 miles north of the Loop. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the Loop via public transportation, or about an hour to get to O'Hare. Without traffic, a drive to the Loop takes about 15 minutes, and a drive to O'Hare takes about 30 minutes.
