I have been buying and selling houses in Chicagoland for the last 20 years. My wife and I own a real estate company, and when I help you buy a house, I am going to look at the house and help you determine if it's priced right, or if we could get a better deal. Are there things with the house that maybe need some work, and we should ask the owner to take care of?
And if I help you sell a house, I'm going to go around the house with you and I'm going to say, "Hey, maybe these are some things that we can improve to get the maximum value for your house." And also, are there things you were thinking about fixing that maybe doesn't make sense, because no one's going to pay more for them. And when I help you buy a house, I'm going to treat it exactly like I do my own.
